With rumors of The Expendables 4 heading to Spain and even Tunisia, now the Bulgarians, those most likely to host production, are claiming that it’ll film there. According to large Bulgarian website Monitor.bg:
The long-awaited fourth part of Sylvester Stallone’s franchise – “The Invincibles” will be shot again in Bulgaria.
The site also says that Arnold Schwarzenegger will join Sylvester Stallone for the film. But more casting rumors are also coming out of Bulgaria. The website 19min.bg claims that along with Schwarzenegger, Schwarzenegger’s son Joseph Baena is going to appear in the movie. They also say that boxer Tyson Fury is linked to appear, specifically being sought by Sylvester Stallone himself.
Elsewhere, stunt co-ordinator Buster Reeves has uploaded a tease of the script to Instagram.

The screenwriter it shows is Max Adams, writer and director of several Bruce Willis/Robert De Niro VOD movies. But this is actually a step up from Gregory Poirier, who appears to have been replaced. Poirier’s CV was no better, but his social media feed was worrying. The man appears to have been a political zealot, something he may not have been able to separate from work, who knows.
As far as conflicting rumors on the filming location/s, it’s possibly that it could span multiple locations.
Finally, the age old question of whether or not Jackie Chan, 1990s action superstar, will appear in this series seems to have been answered, with Stallone telling his forum users that it’s ‘doubtful’ that they’ll ever make a movie together at all, although not because of any type of animosity between the two.
