Top Five: Best Action Sequels Ever
3) Terminator 2 (1991)
Cameron is King Shit of developing sequels. Although this really is more of a remake than it is a sequel, Cameron himself even said the T-1000 would’ve appeared in the first movie had it been technically possible. And the fact that it does play it relatively safe by redoing the first story only puts it at number three. It could’ve fucked up, I mean on paper it looked like the T-800 was being turned into a babysitting pussy. Even Arnie wrote in his book that it had him worried that it might even be PG-13. But Cameron convinced him it would be Rated-R and everything would be fine.
Nobody but Cameron could’ve directed the opening bar sequence. Robert Patrick seals it, somehow living up to the 1984 villain. Although personally, I would’ve cast the kid from RoboCop 2 as John Connor. Furlong and his screeching is the weakest link.
