4) RoboCop (1988)
RoboCop was released as an arcade unit one year after the movie and the same year as the VHS release. This was from a time when arcades really were lightyears ahead of home consoles. The controls were more fluid and the games looked at least one generation ahead. RoboCop is a good example. The game looked strong with ED-209 being especially menacing. The game was ported to most home consoles but didn’t look or sound anywhere near as good. This arcade game even won game of the year way back in 1988 – the only time a movie game has done so?
