Top Five: Worst Manly Movie Game Adaptations
1) Rambo The Video Game – Multiplatform
What this thing turned out to be was the worst movie video game adaptation of all time and demanded a redefinition of the word hatred. It’s unquestionably one of the biggest pieces of crap ever mass produced on disc, game or otherwise. It’s closer to the Hot Shots spoof than the actual movies. The gameplay? Pre-millenials will remember the light gun format, where you’d go to an arcade and hold a physical weapon in front of a pre-determined route, shooting enemies who’d pop up. But this is a light gun game without a light gun.
So because of that shooting is, to put it mildly, like aiming with a man who has suffered two broken arms and is firing a gun crudely strapped to his chest. To rubber stamp its status as king turd, the game takes canon and shits on it massively and heavily by suggesting that Rambo faked his own death (!) after the events of Rambo II, it then ignores completely the events of Rambo IV. I hate you, Reef Entertainment – the same people developing the upcoming Terminator game.
