1) Kiss of Death (1995)
Back before Nicolas Cage, Ving Rhames or David Caruso were big deals, they appeared in this taut thriller about some pissants, lead by Nicolas Cage, who liked to steal cars, load them on trucks and generally get up to no good. Nicolas Cage also liked to bench press beautiful women in front of his father, in order to impress the man. How manly is that?
Of course there is an undercover mole, which can be a good plot for such movies, and it’s used effectively here. Nicolas Cage is the bad guy and amps the trolling meter up to about 80%,which is strong by Cage standards. The only thing that would have made this movie better would’ve been a strong role for Gary Busey (he’s not in the movie, just musing that Gary Busey is a God among men).
