4) No Upbeat Slapstick
Alright Sylvester. You’ve had your fun. Comedy in The Expendables 2, one step short of full blown slapstick. More comedy in Grudge Match, which to be honest did not work. And, well, too much comedy and joy in The Expendables 3. The party is over. Now we want the fucking hangover, with ‘ole John J. destroying somebody’s neighbourhood. Rambo is a haunted man, so we need that trend to continue. In short, Barney Ross is exactly who he shouldn’t be. Less “mumbo jumbo’s gonna who do you” and more stuff that would make a billy goat puke.
