TOP FIVE: 1990’s Action Trailers

Now we’re talking.  This trailer totally reeks of 1980’s action-ism yet has all the benefits of 1990’s refinement.  I recall when Sony launched their entertainment network, or PSN, back in 2006, this was the first or one of the first trailers they used to showcase what they had in store, despite being a 12 year old movie.  It makes me want to watch Speed for the 82nd time, as in right now.  This trailer delivers the one liners and breakneck pacing all in just over two minutes.  In fact we really need a Speed 3, preferably with Keanu Reeves shooting a hostage in the opening act.  Hopefully John Wick and John Rain rejuvenate Reeves’ action career and he does make it.   However, good as this trailer is, the following year one the greatest action teasers ever was released…
