Top Five: 80’s Action Trailers

Now we’re getting into real 1980’s action royalty with a superbly cut trailer for Sylvester Stallone’s cop thriller Cobra.  Stallone remarked during the making of the movie, on critic remarks that it was too violent, that he basically didn’t give a damn and that he was there to serve audiences with what they wanted, and that this type of violent retribution was exactly what they wanted to see.  That kinda talk in the mid-80’s… it was the way of the new world!  I get the feeling that violent action, pushed to the point of near hilarity, was possibly what Stallone was going for in The Expendables series, even if it didn’t quite work out.  By the way, the hunt continues for the much sought after TV version of this movie.  If you have it, or ever find it, drop us a line.
