3) Contemporary Female Action Doesn’t Exist

Leading on from the second point about female action not existing back then, it doesn’t exist now either. It seems someone saw Gina Carano in Haywire, an exceptionally shit movie that tried way too hard, and had a brainfart about having her lead an ensemble female ripoff of The Expendables. I guess they didn’t think that thought process through because, firstly, Carano is no action star. Secondly, Carano has no peers to lead. I can’t think of a single good action movie in the past decade with a convincing female lead. Where’s the female Die Hard? Still waiting. Maybe because females aren’t interested in paying to see it now, just like they weren’t then? So they have nothing to draw from in the past, and nothing to draw from in the present. Nobody cares, in other words. There was no female Die Hard back then and there is no female RAID today.
