Top Five: Dolph Lundgren Movies

3) The Expendables (2010)

I followed this series before it was even pitched. And the third person announced after Sly and Statham was Lundgren. Fuck, was I excited. I didn’t care if anyone else wasn’t cast, these three would be enough for me. Obviously, we got ‘em and then some. But Dolph is the star of the show here. He has a tendency to do that, stealthily steal the movie.

I mean, some actors do it with one-liners. In the Expendables, Dolph was doing it with one-worders! (Insect!). There’s something funny about pseudo intellectuals going to see Nolan’s exposition-fests, full of pretence and convincing themselves they’re being entertained. Then, in The Expendables, seeing a guy from MIT with an IQ of 809 deliver a superior amplitude of entertainment with dialogue from a postage stamp. This is the irony lost on dickheads who don’t ‘get it’ that I love.
