4) Rob Van Damme/Jean Claude Van Damme
This may have been a less obvious example, but clearly Rob Van Damme, the martial artist wrestler of ECW, WWF, TNA and even WCW fame sort of took inspiration from a certain movie star.
I don’t think there’d be any threat of being sued for likeness theft there, primarily because Jean Claude Van Damme has probably never heard of the guy. In his younger days, Rob Van Damme looked a lot more like JCVD. I remember someone once asking Bill Apter the serious question of whether or not they were brothers.
The real question though is, when is someone going to rip off Steven Seagal’s likeness? Or would they have the balls to?!
