5) Kim Coate’s Acting In Season 7
Kurt Sutter’s television series, Sons of Anarchy, didn’t start out bad. In fact, season one was somewhat entertaining. Season two could even be described as ‘good’. Then with season three, the entire thing went into the deep end, and kept sinking. It’s one of those things where I can’t explain why I sat through seven seasons of what was mostly shit TV. But looking back, it certainly strayed into ‘so bad it’s good’ territory.
Especially when Kurt Sutter would blow up on social media defending his baby. Here are some of the most outrageous/laughable/terrible moments.
I have to start with an incident, which I want to say was in series seven. Kim Coates played ‘Tig’, and in one episode after his gang repeatedly ran afoul of some gangsters, they took Tig to his daughter who was in a pit. In a classic Kurt Sutter attempt to shock his viewers into discussing the series, the thing that stood out most was Kim Coate’s acting. It was so terrible, odd and awkward that I burst out laughing. His performance was as if to say, hmm… gee, that’s quite unfortunate.
It was as if the character had baked a pie and was merely inconvenienced when he found it had burned slightly.
