Top Five: Things An Expendables 4 Needs
1) Kill the noobs
Look, in your attempt to establish long term yet cheap legs for this series by hiring no-name bums, you fucked up. You fucked up big time. People hated them, to the extent that the R-rated director’s cut probably won’t save the movie (although to be sure, there are other problems in there too, but this is the worst offender). So to make amends, get rid of them. In fact, kill them brutally in the opening act. This will establish two things – firstly that they aren’t staying, secondly that The Expendables will have a worthy villain for once. To cut Wesley Snipes’ and Mel Gibson’s screen time in favour of a bunch of z-listers was unforgiveable. Doing it a second time? Don’t even go there…
