2) The Last Action Hero (1993)
Maybe it’s telling that for many years, I had hadn’t realised that this movie is actually PG-13. It was just so fucking awesome, John McTiernan and Arnold Schwarzenegger teaming up in an effortless slice of badass.
I don’t get the hate for this movie. Oh yeah, it’s out there alright. It didn’t fair too well at the box office either, probably stuck in that giant dinosaur footprint from that movie that came out at the same time. But you can’t tell me that this movie isn’t a player, back in the manlier early 1990’s. It might be a little softer, thinking back, but it’s one of those movies that simply has to be owned on Blu-Ray, with its own shelf space next to Rambo, Die Hard and others.
