Top Five Things Need For Resident Evil Reboot
5) Chris Redfield
The recent news that CAPCOM is proceeding with a remake of Resident Evil 2, which would be a follow up to the remake of Resident Evil (a spectacularly good game) is most welcome. The sales of the recent HD remaster of the original game apparently gave them the encouragement required to move forward with what everyone wants. On the movie side of things however, the news isn’t as good. The ‘final’ movie in the current series will not be released until early 2017, which means that we’re probably looking at 2020 for a reboot.
That said, a reboot is inevitable and since the remake of the second game will sell like hotcakes because it’ll stick to basics, perhaps that will help.
Things need to change. And for a start I’d suggest making Chris Redfield the focal point of the new series. Redfield is the original protagonist and many would say main protagonist of the entire series. And yet the guy was nowhere to be seen in Paul W.S. Anderson’s first movie. I’m sorry, but who the hell is the character played by Milla Jovovich, and where is the infamous Redfield, surviving the undead with just a combat knife?
Also, a normal Chris Redfield will do. I don’t know why, but in the newer games the guy looks like Lou Ferrigno in a SWAT outfit.
