Top Ten: Characters Who Would Survive A Zombie Outbreak

10) Edward “Brill” Lyle

I look at these zombie shows and movies these, when I see Andrew Lincoln and/or the likes of Brad Pitt trying to make their way in a zombie apocalypse and I can’t help but think… man, pity *insert movie character* wasn’t in this universe.  It would be awesome if some of the manly men throughout manly movie history swapped place.  Time for a run down on who would make their way through  most easily.

Can you really have a list like this without Gene ‘don’t approach my wife in a threatening manner of I’ll beat eight shade of shit outta you’ Hackman?!  The role that comes to mind is Edward Lyle, from the movie Enemy of the State (1998).  Not a bad movie, it has Jon Voight as the villain.  But it doesn’t get cool until Hackman shows up.  He has street smarts beyond anyone, this Lyle guy.  He knows how to survive off the grid.  He’s two steps ahead of you catching up to being three steps behind.  A great character, I’d love to see him laugh at some of the mistakes in ‘The Walking Dead’.

9) Aaron Hallam

Aaron Hallam, if you remember, was that guy from the movie The Hunted (2003).  He was sort of a cut-price Rambo, but a premium Jason Bourne.  Trained by Tommy Lee Jones, Hallam goes ape shit, Rambo style, after someone stars sawing at the trees out yonder.  Or something.  But the point is, not even trained humans could track or catch him, let alone shuffling stiffs.

This was a good movie by the way.  6.0/10 on the IMDb?  The fuck outta here.  It might not be as good as First Blood, but it’s damned underrated.  I’d call it Benicio Del Toro’s best movie, or at least my favourite of his.  In a zombie outbreak, Hallam would live to be a very old man.  No sweat.
