TOP FIVE: Bruce Willis Movies

1) Die Hard

You’d think that since this is the movie that defined his career, Bruce Willis would treat the property with more respect.  With the new movie serving as both sequel and prequel, I don’t know if he has learned anything, or cares.  But this movie, for certain, will not be topped by Bruce Willis.

Perfect direction, perfect action, perfect scenario, perfect lighting (aped recently by Michael Bay’s 13 Hours).  In the DVD commentary, John McTiernan said he wanted every frame to have something unique and interesting, visually, happening.  Boy, that was no idle talk, because this thing is a Goddamned masterpiece.  I wonder if they’ll do something special for the 30th anniversary. John McTiernan and Willis returning for a big 4k blow out special edition would be my hope.

I mean, this movie also has the debut of Dick Thornburg for fuck’s sake!
