Back to the Future (1985)
As good as the other soundtracks are here, even though this is not a particularly manly movie (it’s fucking incredible all the same), this is surely among the best ever.
Oh and gee, it’s only Alan Silvestri, again. Silvestri said that Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis came to him and requested a soundtrack way out of the league from that of the actual movie that they had created, in order to fool investors into thinking that it was something special. Of course, Silvestri obliged and of course, the movie matches the score.
It has Huey Lewis too, how could it possibly have been any better?
Con Air (1997)
Composer Trevor Rabin put together a somewhat odd, but exceedingly manly noise for Simon West’s Con Air in 1997.
Particularly the Garland Greene theme. It’s the kind of thing that might have had little old ladies running out of the theatre. You could say that the soundtrack for Con Air is a real Azz Kikr.
At one point, they were going to film a sequel to Con Air. Set at an airport, those blasted cons would once again fuck some shit up and take over the whole thing and its terminals, with John Cusack returning as the lead character to take them down. Then 9/11 happened and the idea was understandably scrapped.
