33) SHADE (2003)

This is probably a lesser known Stallone movie.

It’s probably because the movie is so limp and pedestrian, with pacing that moves like a stick through near-hardened concrete; not in a good way.  If you can barely remember that Stallone even appeared in this movie, you certainly won’t remember any of the other characters.

Even though they were played by the likes of Gabriel Byne and Jamie Foxx.  Thandie Newton and Byrne try to take down ‘The Dean’ (Stallone) in a card game scam.  The film is kind of an exercise in mediocrity, inoffensively sleepy.  But it does have a good cast and it’s nice to see Stallone try mature drama.

The film had a limited run and was essentially a DTV movie.
