27) ROCKY V (1990)
I chose to place Rocky V (relatively) high on this list, because the film has grown on me in recent years. Even despite the lamentable father/son dynamic with Balboa’s burgeoning metrosexual, whining brat offspring. For example, it’s fun to note nowadays while watching Rocky V, that you can’t really blame Balboa for slipping out of the house with that noise, but surely, this wasn’t intentional in the script (…).
The mild value of Rocky V though is Tommy Morrison’s character and his (hugely clichéd) relationship with Rocky and Don King rip off George Washington Duke. The end fight is a novel thing for the series, I like this fight. It’s underrated, one of the better fights you’ll see from the 1990’s.
